Welcome to the Berkland Lab webpage!

Our lab works at the interface of medicine and engineering with an emphasis on precisely controlling the physical and chemical properties of particles and cellular scaffolds. The lab environment fosters multidisciplinary interaction between graduate and undergraduate researchers from the departments of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Chemistry as well as postdoctoral researchers and visiting scientists with diverse training in engineering, chemistry and life sciences. In addition, we have several ongoing collaborations with researchers at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City.

Facilities -

- Our lab is situated in a new Multidisciplinary Research Building located on west campus. The new lab includes ~1200 sq. ft. of space . We also have access to state-of-the-art BSL 3 facilities as well as tissue culture facilities, a microfabriation lab, cold rooms and autoclaves.

Current lab projects -
